Important: TradeSocial is a 100% educational simulation platform. All trading is virtual "paper trading" with simulated funds. No real money or actual financial accounts are ever involved.
Introduction
Welcome to TradeSocial! We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we collect, use, and safeguard your information. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the TradeSocial mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create a TradeSocial account, we collect:
- Email Address — Used for account authentication, password recovery, and service communications
- Display Name — Used to identify you within the app and in group features
- Profile Photo (Optional) — Used to personalize your profile
1.2 Trading Simulation Data
All trading activity is simulated:
- Virtual portfolio positions in stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies
- Virtual trade history (simulated buy/sell transactions)
- Portfolio performance (simulated gains, losses, returns)
- Group membership and milestone progress
All financial data is virtual simulation data only. We do not collect, store, or process any real financial account information, real transaction data, or real money.
1.3 Usage and Analytics
To improve our service, we collect anonymized usage data:
- App usage analytics (anonymized)
- Crash reports and diagnostics
- Device information (model, OS version, app version)
- Performance metrics
1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
- ❌ Real financial data (bank accounts, credit cards, investments)
- ❌ Precise location data
- ❌ Device contacts
- ❌ Photos or media (except optional profile photo)
- ❌ Health, biometric, or sensitive personal data
- ❌ Browsing or search history outside the app
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 App Functionality
- Securely authenticate your account (Firebase Authentication)
- Display your simulated trading portfolio and performance
- Enable group features, invitations, and milestone bonuses
- Send push notifications about group activity and trades (with your permission)
2.2 What We Do NOT Do
- ❌ We never sell your personal data to third parties
- ❌ We do not use your data for targeted advertising
- ❌ We do not track you across other apps or websites
- ❌ We do not share your data for profit
3. Third-Party Services
3.1 Firebase (Google Cloud Platform)
We use Firebase for backend infrastructure, authentication, database, analytics, and crash reporting. Firebase is GDPR-compliant and SOC 2 certified. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
3.2 Market Data Providers
We retrieve public market data for educational simulation. No personal information is shared with data providers.
3.3 Apple StoreKit
In-app subscription management is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We receive only subscription status (active/expired). We never see your payment details.
3.4 What We Do NOT Use
- ❌ No advertising networks (Facebook Ads, Google Ads)
- ❌ No social media trackers
- ❌ No data brokers or resellers
4. Data Security and Retention
We protect your data with:
- Industry-standard TLS encryption in transit
- Firebase Security Rules for strict access control
- Regular security audits
Data Retention
- Account data — Retained while active; deleted within 30 days of account deletion
- Analytics data — Anonymized after 90 days
- Crash reports — Retained for 90 days, then deleted
5. Your Rights
- Access — View your account data in Settings
- Export — Download your trading history
- Delete — Delete your account and all data in Settings
- Opt-Out — Disable analytics in Settings
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
TradeSocial is rated 4+ and safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent. If you believe a child has created an account without consent, contact privacy@tradesocial.app.
7. GDPR Rights (European Users)
EU users have additional rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection. Exercise these rights by emailing privacy@tradesocial.app with "GDPR Request" in the subject. We respond within 30 days.
8. California Privacy (CCPA)
California residents: we do not sell personal information. You have the right to know, delete, and opt-out. Email privacy@tradesocial.app with "CCPA Request" in the subject. We respond within 45 days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect new features, legal requirements, or best practices. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification and email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
